There are many stages of life when you may be thinking about finding a way to earn a little extra cash. I hear this from recent retirees as well as moms whose kiddos are (finally) going back to school. And while I’ve always been honest that working from home isn’t for everyone that doesn’t mean you can’t find a good fit for you and your lifestyle.
If you’re thinking about a side-hustle – or maybe even something that is more full-time, I’ve got some ideas for you. Because combining the flexibility of making money from home with doing something you enjoy is a win-win all the way around.
One – Do Something Creative
You don’t have to have the CEO attitude to start your own business from home. Whether you’re looking to make a little money in your spare time. Or devote your time to a growing business. There are simple ideas you can start without big investments!
One of the first things that comes to mind is photography. This was one of my first gigs: selling photos to a stock photo website. Perusing the current sites as well as popular blogs can give you an idea of what looks people are seeking. So, if you want to get creative with your camera? Dive in! There’s something deeply satisfyingly as taking just the right shot. And seeing others love it as well.
If photography doesn’t sound like you but writing does, you could look into copywriting! A lot of businesses look for copywriters to write pieces for them to help with marketing, and it’s something that can often be done from home! You need not search further if you need to know how to start making money copywriting. It takes someone with a passion for writing to be interested in this, but it’s a great opportunity if you can find a way!
Two – Consider Tutoring
This is one of the best recommendations for retired folks who want to take their knowledge and share it with others. Whether it’s being an art mentor, a math tutor, or helping someone prep for a test, tutoring is a great opportunity. And it allows you to share a passion with someone else while making money, which is a win-win!
There’s nothing better than making money from doing what you love, and it can be done within your four walls! Whether you do it face-to-face, or online via webcam, think about what talents you could share!
Three – Dog Walking
If you’re looking to get out of the house even if just for a little bit, dog walking is a great way to do that while making money! You don’t have to take on more than you can handle, and there are always people looking for a little help with that responsibility! It’s even greater if you’re a lover of animals, as that makes dog walking much more fun! In a sense, it’s not really a job, more of a fun activity – except you’re getting paid!
