If you are debating a career, change then you may be wondering if it’s the right move or not. This is understandable, but at the end of the day, there are a few things you can do to make sure that you are making the right call. Take a look below to find out more.
One – You Look Forward to Mondays
Some people experience a lot of dread on Sundays. They know that work is coming the next day and this is something that they worry about. If this isn’t a thing for you, then you may be in the right job. It may even be that you look forward to Mondays because you can’t wait to see what the day ahead has in store for you. Sure, your Sunday evenings might not be very relaxed but at the same time, if you don’t dread the next day, then this is a sign you are well and truly content.
Two – You Can See a Clear Path
You should never underestimate the power of having a good career progression. When you work within a role, where do you see yourself going? It may sound cliché, but you need to have a good understanding of what the future looks like for you. Research has shown time and time again that employees are way more likely to be engaged at work if they have an idea of what path they are taking. Of course, if you are unsure as to where your current role is leading, then now may be the time for you to make a change. If you see a clear trajectory, however, then this is a sign that you are in the right job and that the only way for you is up.
Three – You have the Respect of Your Manager
At the end of the day, respect is a two-way street. Whenever you work with someone, you have to show them a great deal of respect. You need to listen to what they have to say and you also need to take feedback onboard as well. When your manager has respect for you, and they show an interest in your workload, your work-life balance and more, then this is a clear indicator that you are working for a company that cares about your well-being.
Five – You have Training Opportunities
Another sign that you are on the right career path is if you see a lot of training opportunities. CEU training is a great example if you work within the care sector. Of course, if you have never been given the chance to train or if you feel as though you are being held back through lack of training, then this is a clear indicator that something has to change because this shows that you aren’t happy within your current career.
So these are the top signs that you are happy within your current role. How do you feel about the job you have now? Remember if you’re not satisfied, it’s never too late to make a positive change.
